4th Gen E-brake confusion

4th Gen E-brake confusion

Hi I'm newly registered (but have been lurking for about a year) and I just swapped in a 4th gen rear end off of a bird and put it on my 85 camaro. I'm fairly new to wrenching but I'm learning. This is my first rear end swap on this car and I'm stuck on the E-brake. Before you deem this to be "just another 4th gen e-brake question," I've searched several threads and haven't come across a solution that I can perform. I do not have a welding machine to mount 4th gen brackets, I am not familiar with fab work on the cables and with the way I did the swap, (my father described it as "*** backwards") I can't get to the front of the car right now as the rear end is about 2 feet off the ground right now. I need a simple swap solution for one of the e-brake cables. One of them is long enough, the passenger side isn't. If it matters, this isn't an LS1 or LT1, it's just a 350 TPI with a 700R. Idk if that changes anything as I said, I'm new to wrenching and am not comfortable "winging it" on one of the most important safety features of an automobile; brakes.

Long story short, with sbc 350 tpi, is there a cable I can just buy and swap in without any fab work like welding?

remember on my 4th gen 1 is longer then the other too. Not sure how to adapt them but check craigslist for a cheap wire welder. Even the cheapest will do the job. I bought a licoln 100 and it can do pretty much anything on a car. Paid like 150 for it

sadly probably not. just craigslist a welder, maybe you can find a super cheap one.

If the rear end itself is complete, the cables should be a simple bolt up. Best of luck.

It has drum brakes though. These cables only show for discs, does that matter? And after doing some thread searching, the LS1 and LT1 cables are different, which one fits better?

Alright. Found my answer but I didn't see the answer on this site. I need a 4th gen e brake cable but now the trouble is finding one. (I'd rather not go through another junkyard. Getting one new would be nice)
