Help me troubleshoot a problem I have

Okay so i have an 86 which hasn't been driven much since 1994

Took it out not too long ago and Whenever i apply the foot on the break it makes a ''swooshing'' sound and takes a while to stop.

Are the brakes finished due to time/lack of use or is there another problem?

Thank you

the "swooshing" sound is the sound of the brake booster leaking and not using the vacuum to help you stop the car... get a new booster in there.

Thanks for the reply
would you have a link to the part? Its the 2.8l v6 if that helps.
ive been having bad idling problems too... would that also fix the problem since its probably a vacuum leak?

go to the website of your favorite auto parts store- i'm a NAPA guy, personally, but i've also looked stuff up on the O'Reilly site because there's one of them close- and search for a brake booster for your car.. if you don't want to shop locally and support local businesses, then rockauto is a good place to buy parts..
