Lots Brake questions?
I am wanting to redo my breaks front and rear. Not sure if I want to stick with facotoy brakes or upgrade to something better. I have been out loop and not sure what's out there. 1987 Iroc with 4 wheel disk 9 bolt reared.
Factory Brake: what brake rotors are recommended? Drilled/ slotted, slotted or regular style. What break pads are recommended?
Upgraded Brakes: what's a nice cheep break upgrade for front and rear 9 bolt? What out there? I do have a set of front calipers/ mounts and rear mounts off a Ls1 that were given to me. ( used for possible core for new?)
Any help is greatly appreciate! Thanks.

Re: Lots Brake questions?
as far as pads go, I personally like the performance of ceramic pads and typically use drilled and slotted rotors.

Re: Lots Brake questions?
Factory brakes - the 10.5" ones on your car are barely adequate for commuting, let alone any sort of spirited driving.
But the good news is that there are at least a dozen choices of brakes on the market and they will fit your car - in some cases, 17" or larger wheels are required.
My recommendation is a 13" front kit (with either 2 or 4 piston calipers) and a 1989 and up OEM PBR setup for the rear. You will most likely need 17" wheels - but since 16" tires are scarce to fit these days, might as well go big for more grip too.

Here's what I did to my DD.
Breaks fine for what I'm doing.

I agree with Ron. Read his thread. Just restoring lost breaking performance with stock style new rotors and pads is huge if they haven't been done in a while.
