Lt1 10 bolt backing plates the same as third gen pbr backing plates?
Can't seem to get a solid answer on this. I found some fourth gen lt1 era pbr backing plates for a ten bolt. Are they the same as third gen 10 bolt pbr backing plates? In other words can I use my third gen pbr brakes on fourth gem backing plates?
Re: Lt1 10 bolt backing plates the same as third gen pbr backing plates?
These are 4th gen LT1 PBR backing plates. I believe the only difference between 3rd and 4th gen is the diameter for the axle tube. 4th gen being larger. In my research for my swap everything I've found says the calipers and carriers are identical or nearly identical.
If your backing plates look like these just with a smaller axle tube diameter then I would say you should be good to go.

Axle tubes/bearings/seals are the same size.
The 4th gens went to the cast backing plates to cure some of the issues with the stamped parts. You'll need longer caliper mounting bolts if using the 4thgen plates. Make sure they aren't to long and hit the back of the rotor.
