Tricks to remove caliper bolts

Hi all,
I tru to do some brake work today in my iroc z 1986. The left week went just fine. However, the right front wheel I couldn’t remove either of the caliper bolts. It is so tight I don’t know what to do. I tried PB blaster freezing, light wire brush, cleansing, etc. Did not move at all. It seems that the caliper and pads are aligned well. When I rotate the rotor it seems the pads rubs slightly with the rotor.
Anybody have ideas how to loosen the bolts?

Any help appreciated!!

Long breaker bar, and super-human retard strength. Can also heat the spindle around the bolts, but I've never had to do that personally.

If you don't have a long breaker bar or pipe to fit over wrench, put wrench on and strike it hard with your hammer.

Re: Tricks to remove caliper bolts

Problem with those usually is, the drive is only like a 3/8" Allen (don't quote me on that... I usually just try em all until I find the one that fits ); and even if you put ALOT of leverage on it, it just strips out.

A pipe wrench, however, works GREAT. Just yerbasic BIG plumber's pipe wrench. Then of course get new ones, and put anti-seize on the threads to keep it from happening again.

Yeah! 3/8 it is. I hammered hard but did not work. I was afraid and will stripped. Will try the pipe.

Re: Tricks to remove caliper bolts

If your using a good quality Allen wrench or socket, you will break the bolt or the key before you strip the hex.

More leverage is what you need, if that fails use heat.

Re: Tricks to remove caliper bolts

while you're torquing the bolt with the breaker bar have someone tap the spindle with a hammer. don't beat the snot out of it but give it good enough wacks to try and shock the bolt free
