17" Wheels with C6 Z51 Parts

I am getting ready to modify a second third gen Camaro (first was LS1 upgrade) and would like some information and feedback from everyone. What I would like to accomplish utilizing parts available to me is -
1. Install Z51 C6 rotors (13.38" dia.)
2. Install Z51 C6 calipers
3. Install to be on third gen modified spindles
4. Utilize C6 caliper abutments
5. Replace LS1 caliper mounts with C5/C6 caliper mounts
6. Utilize ROH SP 17" wheels (if possible). The caliper/rotor setback from the wheel center point appears to be sufficient to clear the caliper utilizing the templement available on the internet.

I have done many searches but the one that gives e hope this will all work together as a group comes from the third gen topic

fly-n-bye has a very similar kit available but the caliper is C5 #GZ51
big brake upgrade has a very similar kit but shows both C5 and C6 calipers
C6Z51 brakes
I contacted both without receiving a definitive answer about this approach.

ROH wheels will never clear those brakes, but CTW Motorsports wheels will:

The Roh 17`s will take a C6 Z06 caliper and 14 inch rotor but the Z51 13.4 actually needs more radial than the C6 Z06 thats pictured above.

15.8" barrel for the Z06 C6 and just over 16 inch barrel for the Z51 C6

Re: 17" Wheels with C6 Z51 Parts

I believe I am clear but just so I am perfectly clear, you are saying the C6 Z51 caliper and 13.38" rotor will not clear the wheels I have. Would you also clear up the necessary caliper attachment bracket one would need from you (BBU) to use the C6 Z51 parts? I currently am running the LS1 components on another car so I believe I would need your C5/C6 bracket in order to attach the C6 abutment bracket to a newly modified third gen spindle in order to go this way (and probably 18" wheels).

Re: 17" Wheels with C6 Z51 Parts

I said they will clear a C6 Z06, and that a C6 Z51 needs slightly more diameter. If I had first hand knowledge that they would not take a Z51 brake I would just say it, I cannot confirm nor deny. As many customers as I have had, I`ve never had any report a 17 fitting over the Z51 brakes although as you can see in photos that have been posted... the CTW`s in 17`s will clear just about every factory type brakeupgrade to date.

The C6 Z51 conversion will need the C5/C6 bracket and also the Z51 abutment brackets 88964166 , you could re-use the same LS1 hubs you have now.
