Baer Black Label 12" fronts terrible when cold

Hi, a couple years ago I bought the Baer 12" Black Label front kit from Hawks. Yes,there was the break in instructions with the kit...meant to follow them, but kind of did a bit but not entirely,Just the way it went!
I have found that when they are cold, they are almost scary. They will stop it but takes awhile and pushing as hard as you can on the pedal.Once they get hot they are better, but still not that great really. The car only has 80,000km on it and only gets driven in the summer, maybe 600 km a year.
I bought them because its a10 sec car & wanted better braking at the big end.
Is there maybe a different pad I could try,if anybody has had a similar situation? Is Baer the only place to get pads that fit those calipers?
It is street driven more then it is at the track, but I expected substantially better braking with the upgrade, not worse.
I've owned the car since new and it's still like new.Always garaged and meticulously maintained.
I've been a GM technician for 30 years,so no lack of experience with vehicles...I drive SUV's that seem to stop better!

Any advice is appreciated, thank you.

What pads come it that kit? It's possible the pads area race style compound which need to be heated up for optimum performance.

Not sure as there was no choices when I ordered the kit. Probably best to phone them & get more info. Also want to know what/where to get pads for those calipers when they do wear out.
Honestly, I haven't done much research on it yet but thought I'd start here.

I have to agree, this sounds like a pad choice issue. Give Baer a call and talk to them. They know their stuff very well.
