Crappy Delco-Moraine rear brake replacement

Ok boys and girls. I have a borg wagner 9 bolt in my 86 iroc because i cooked the ten bot that came with it. I love my new 9 bolt but the brakes are junk. Ever since i installed the rear my pedal is spongy at times. If i stab on the brakes they feel better. I just hate the feel of the brakes. I mean it feels like crap. I dont have Confidence in the brakes at all. So is there a kit that i can use to replace the brakes in the rear that anyone knows of? All i keep reading on this forum is hom much the delcos suck.....and i agree. I miss my strong hard quick reacting pedal. Thanks in advance!

My IROC was equipped with Delco-Moraines. With new hoses, new pads, fresh brake fluid and constant use of the hand brake, they functioned without issue. I eventually swapped to PBR's simply because I wanted a match to my 1LE fronts. A search will reveal numerous swap choices. Best of luck on your project.

Were you drums before? Did you swap the prop valve?
I think I just got really lucky my delcos have been awesome. The E brake works no rattles and they have good pedal feel.

I've only ever driven one iron caliper disc car that I'd say had functional brakes. By far the average DM rear disc car has poorly functioning brakes. Worse yet the problem is difficult to remedy since they are needlessly hard to work on.
