Proportioning Valve question in rear diff swap

I am swapping out my stock 91' 10 bolt w/drum brakes for an 89' 9 bolt w/disc brakes.

I can't find a clear answer in if I need to change out the proportioning valve or not.

yes, you do. There are several threads in the forum that discuss this in detail. use google to search, and plug in thirdgen.org proportioning valve. you'll find the info you need.

The drum and disc proportioning valves are different.
