Line lock plumbing

I’ve never installed a line lock before and don’t understand the reasoning behind the installation instructions. I was think of getting a multi port valve instead of single and plumbing the factory lines to it. Then I would just plug one output off the proportioning valve and make one new line from the proportioning valve to the line lock input. Would this work? Everything I’ve seen is using a T fitting and I don’t understand why

Re: Line lock plumbing

Yes, that will work. Front brake lines are fed by one brake line into the prop valve. That one line splits into two at the outlet of the prop valve as a matter of convenience so that you can run lines to both front brakes. You can plug one of those outlets and run a single line to the roll stop, then tee off to both front brakes after that.

Now people that use a two-port prop valve can't do that because the prop valve is on the rear brake line only. In that case you'd run a single front line from master cylinder to the roll stop and then tee off the roll stop valve to both front brakes.

You can also plumb the roll stop in front of the Wilwood 5-port prop valve (which is easier). It doesn't matter whether it's on the inlet side or outlet side because the front and rear brakes don't interact at all inside the valve.

With a factory 5-port valve you must plumb the roll stop after the valve. Reason being is a pressure switch inside the valve interacts with front and rear line pressures. The Wilwood is not that way.

Re: Line lock plumbing

That’s for the feedback, I’m running the oem brake master with oem proportioning valve w/ spring update. Updating the front with bigbrakeuprgrade to 4th gen 12” 2 piston and keeping the rear drum till I grenade it. Thanks for the info
