Started to bench bleed my master cylinder as I think there is air in it. Couple questions: Is the piston supposed to be very stiff/hard to compress? And is there supposed to be brake fluid splashing out? https://imgur.com/a/2LCrObe (video shown) is that normal?
I'm not sure if this is normal or if my master cylinder is bad, any help would be appreciated as this is my first time bench bleeding.

Yes the piston springs are rather stiff.
Yes brake fluid often squirts up out of the feed holes when doing this. As well as, in normal operation.
All sounds relatively normal to me.
