Brake light staying on or randomly coming on even when car is off and in park
I have a 1992 firebird formula and for the past year or two once in a while when I'd turn the car off and get out my brake lights would still be on so I'd press on the gas petal and they'd go off.
recently tho they have been staying on and won't go off from pressing the brake petal, and sometimes I'll even turn the car off and check and they will be off and then I'll come back out to my car later and they are back on somehow. Have any of you experienced this issue before and have any idea what it could possibly be?

PS, not being a "grammar ****" here, but it's "Brake" and not "Break"

If ya do Rock Auto, they have 3 different brands of brake light switch listed for your car, ranging in price from $8 to $15, so it'll not only be an easy repair, it'll be a cheap one too

On this page, pick whichever of these, depending on whether or not you have cruise control, and it'll be the right one.

Might just be your BL sw adjustment.
The switch is "normally closed"; i.e. if it's just sitting there in a vacuum with the wires hooked up, the lights will be on. The brake pedal turns the lights off when it reaches the top. There's abuncha ridges in the switch, sorta like threads, and a clip that catches on them; when it gets old, the plastic "thread" things get chewed off. New switch fixes that of course. But look at the one you have first, and make sure you can't just adjust it downward, toward the pedal, a little bit.
