Brake hose "performance package" option?
Brake hose "performance package" option?
So turns out I need new brake hoses. I was able to find the rear center axle brake hose, but when I tried to find the rear left and right hoses that go to the rear disc calipers there are two options; one with performance package and one without.
I have a 1988 trans am GTA with the ws6 4 wheel disc. Does that count as "performance option", or do I buy the regular "non performance package" hoses?

You should have the not so good iron calipers on the rear of your car. It's most likely not a 1LE (performance package)
It only uses 1 rubber hose on pass side. Not sure why GM did that.
88 and up had performance (1LE brake option) rare in 88 but don't think it was available on GTA, unless its a 89 TTA.
89 and up had much better rear disc brakes and a lot more 1LE setups which are bigger 12" front brakes

The number of cars that had the "performance option" in 88 is VERY tiny, like, single digits tiny. No idea myself whether you could get it on the GTA. Or even on any Firebird at all. Regardless, it's highly unlikely that your car has it, at best; though not impossible.
If your calipers are cast-iron with no ribs then it's not the "performance option". If they're aluminum with ribs then it is. The system w cast-iron calipers has 4 hoses: 2 in front, 1 at the center rear, 1 at the pass side caliper.
