IROC Rear Bleed valve removal
IROC Rear Bleed valve removal
I replaced the front brakes on my 1988 IROC Z with no issues. I need to bleed the brakes but the bleed valve on the rear brake drum sits under a cover that the brake fluid linkage is attached to.
I can't get a wrench or socket to the bleed valve. Any suggestions on how I get the bleed valve off to bleed the brakes? The front bleed valves are not covered by anything, and access is easy.
Any advice would be appreciated.

Re: IROC Rear Bleed valve removal
I've researched recentering the combo valve and have ordered the little tool that can help me with this. This new information lit up a lot of light bulbs in my head. You cannot do a good brake bleed if you don't have that centered. It was weird to me that the light didn't come on until after they changed out the master cylinder, but now it makes more sense. That will be my next step: Use the tool to center the combo valve and then do a good brake bleed. There is a good chance this is going to be my remedy. My fingers are crossed! I'll keep you posted. I'm a high school teacher, and it is graduation weekend, so it may be a bit before I get to it.
