Change front rotor wheel studs.....
I have bought new rotors for my MII front suspension (Camaro 1982-87 rotors).
I want to change the wheel studs, in order to get the samt thread size as on the rear wheels (1/2" -20)
I have done this once before, but that's so long time ago that I don't remember how to measure the knurl diameter!
I need to measure the knurl diameter on the bolts that I replace, in order to get the correct knurl diameter on the new bolts.
Can someone point me in the right direction here?
Update:
Found out. There are no wheelstuds with the combination I need: Knurl diameter 0.500 and 1/2-20" threads.
So I must drill out the holes in the rotors, to accept studs with wider knurl diameter.
I remember I had to do that the last time as well.
Not much extra for me, since I have a big sturdy drill press.
Just need to order a special drill for the task.
But helpully enough, Spedway Motors informs about proper hole size for all their knurled press in wheel studs!
