Engine bay clean up
Hello, I'm also looking to clean up the engine bay wiring and hoses to expose the new valve covers on my 84 Z28. Has anyone done this to their 3rd gen that can provide photos of what you did to give me some ideas please? I'm not a fan of all factory wiring and plastic sleeves criss crossing all over the valve covers. I need to replace plug wires too as mine are currently cracked and damaged and would like to reroute them with new looms to expose my new valve covers and need some ideas. Has anyone removed their EVAP canister and EVAP canister purge valve? If this is possible how do I go about doing this?
Thank you all.
Thank you all.

I eliminated all the air injection components (smog), moved the heater hose vacuum valve over between the right shock tower and heater fan motor and added spark plug wire holders that use the center valve cover bolts (from Summit, see pic). Also eliminated coolant to throttle body by replacing straight hose nipple coming out of intake manifold with a 90 degree nipple and that hose straight to heater hose vacuum valve.

Wow that looks amazing! So much better than mine. You got some work in that. Did you remove the EVAP canister and purge valve? If you did, did you need to cap any of the vac lines? Mine is a carburetor and has lines from the EVAP purge valve to the carb.

These are old pictures.
I used Taylor ignition wire seprators.
I can change sparkplugs in 30 minutes, all from the top...

Hi TL. I see you eliminated the air pump but the EVAP cannister is still there? But I don't see the EVAP purge valve? I would love to remove the purge valve! The cannister isn't a big deal it's not really in the way of anything. What did you do to remove the purge valve?

I didn't have the Canister Control valve installed yet when those pics were taken (about 4 years ago). It's on there now.
The A/C is sitting on a shelf in the garage, but it will eventually be reinstalled...
