1986 5-Speed Iroc

Black, 5 Speed TPI IROC-Z, T-tops, power windows/locks. I've owned this car for 3 years and just want something a little newer. Very solid runner.

Work done to it since I've owned it:
UMI Weld-in subframe connectors
New 3.43 rear gear w/ posi unit
Rebalanced driveshaft after gear swap
New T-top weatherstripping (very minor leak, as do most of these)
Sony CD Headunit w/ amp and subwoofer
New water pump
AC recharge (may need it again)
New oil pressure sending unit
New Battery
Tires have about 80% tread on them
New windshield
Aggressive Front End Alignment
New Heater Core
Keyless Entry (no alarm, just remote entry)

Known work done before I bought it:
High flow fuel rails
Stage 2 ECU Prom w/ new thermostat (car runs real "cold")
Auto to 5 speed swap
Edelbrock Valve Covers

Not entirely sure if it's a 305 or 350 block, and haven't felt like using a mirror or crawling behind the block to check. If it's not a 350 then the 305 has had some internal work on it because this car has beat any 305 it's gone against with very little trouble. I do know it has 305 heads on it. Only problem with the car is that it needs new Valve Cover gaskets as they both leak a little oil onto the exhaust manifolds. Body is solid. $3500 Firm. Located in 60101

any pictures of the interior and motor? do all the power options work; radio, horn windshield wipers/fluid, power windows/locks, etc.? was there a need to install the sub-frame connectors such as rust/trouble spots or did you simply install them to just strengthen the frame? speaking of rust, are there any rust spots on the car, how in the underneath of the car? do you have the second hood louver? hope to hear from you as I'm very interested in the car.

holy cow, totally didn't realize how old this picture actually was lol.
Both hood louvers are on the car and had the studs replaced w/ stronger plastic and attached with epoxy. All the power options work except for the horn (previous owner installed a Vette steering wheel and seemingly took out the horn). Sub-frame connectors were by choice, but the underside of the car has a bit of rust beneath both seats, but nothing that looks like it's going to rust through the pans. There is a tiny bit of rust on the hood above the headlight openings and it looks like it's rusting from underneath the hood up, the the rust looks painted over. Also a small bit of rust just starting in both rear wheel wells (same as the hood, looks painted over). As soon as i find a camera i can post a couple more pictures.

It's definitely not a show car, but a very solid cruising car/everyday driver or a decent start for a project car. I also have this listed on craigslist for a little higher price, but pulled down the price for here because it's a lot more likely go get a good home from here rather than there.

Is this the same car that is always at Marcus Theatre? I've seen a car just like this many times, but it never had a for sale sign on it.............

I went back today and it is the car that I thought it was. Because I know the guy personally and he has no post on here and a Junior member, I will vouch for him and his car looks like he recently vacuumed it. Car was clean when I saw it this morning, he does keep the car nice and well taken care of.

Kyle, I wish you the best of luck on the sale of your Camaro and let me know how everything turns out. Sorry to see you sell it, it is a great car, I wish I had the room to park it but I don't, best of luck dude.

Thanks alot man. Still haven't gotten around to putting up actual signs on the car lol. Currently working on financing for a 2006 GTO. Going from a 24 y/o TPI to a relatively shiny new LS2 will be fun

Re: 1986 5-Speed Iroc

It rolled over the odometer and is at 27k I believe at the moment. That's not accurate though because when the previous owner did the ATX/MTX swap, they didn't recalibrate the speedometer so it was grossly inaccurate. When I did my rear end swap, it brought the speedometer closer to accurate, but not perfect.

Car runs real solid. Had an issue with the starter a couple months back but rebuilt the starter solenoid and now it's fine.
