Wanted 87-92 Camaro $6k or less

Looking for a nice car for my 16-year-old son. He likes IROCs and the 91-92 Z's. His budget is $6k or less (can't pay more, already stretching the budget). I prefer a 305 car just because I'd like to keep the power for a teenage boy within reason. The more original and un-modified the better. Would like to find a car that's been stored winters and rust-free.

I'd like to keep it as close to IA as possible.

Re: Wanted 87-92 Camaro $6k or less

I have a 92 Z28 purple haze with gray interior. It has a 350 tpi automatic in it. No mods except for a K & N air filter and aftermarket chrome wheels. Cars paint still looks great for its age. Contact me if you are interested hoopster_alex2010@hotmail.com

Re: Wanted 87-92 Camaro $6k or less

I spoke w/ a guy in eastern IA w/ a '92 Z Convertable a few months ago... Sounds like a good deal - I think he was asking around $4k & 100% original - it does need a new top but that's less than a grand installed...

I can't remember his name - and good 'ol farmer near the quad cities is all I remember (563) 249-7585 is his number...

Something to consider though is that insurance on these cars for a 16 yr is ourageous!! Plus they don't do too well in the IA winters...

They are tough and a BLAST to drive - especially the verts!! Good luck w/ your search!

Re: Wanted 87-92 Camaro $6k or less

i have an 87 IROC-Z/28 very nice condition. alot of motor work getting things to run. its in perfect running order, except that it will not pass CT emissions by less than 11 PPM on the HC. so its void on the CT emissions and would have to be brought to certified facility if registered in CT. other then that perfect running order.

350 bored .040 over with TPI. bigger cam. has T-tops
NEW items:
Injectors
IAC
T-stat
fan relay
MSD wires
MSD coil
Newer plugs
O2
Rotors
Pads
soft brake lines and bleeders
3-inch catback exhaust
Auto tranny
newer battery
Hypertech chip
New PCM
aftermarket cd player
Deleted AC (But will include all parts for it) not serpintine belt

i put alot into it. asking in the ball park of $7500.will knock some off if paid in cash. i know its a bit high, but open to negotiation.

-Dylan
i'm 17 and i can handle the car. shouldnt be too bad for him.

I have a Blue, 1990 TBI 305 145000 miles, that would be great for your son. It doesn't have any mods. It's in fair condition, the engine is in real good condition. Had 2 owners, and it's was suppose to be a project car for me; but I bought a BMW.

Hi, I have an 89 IROC Z red convertible. It has just over 86,000 miles. I'm the second owner, and the car runs great. It reall y needs a new paint job and a new top. Otherwise, it's a great car. The original owner paid $26,000 plus right here in Fort Myers, FL. It has every available option, and everything works. I was asking $5900, but my bottom number is $5,000. Let me know if you want pictures, I can email to you.
