I am getting a decent tax return (finally) and am anticipating purchasing a third gen camaro or firebird. I am looking for a mechanically solid, darn near mechanically perfect third. By solid, I mean no leaks whatsoever, no burning of oil, no funny noises, no grinding or slipping of gears, no odd heating or cooling issues, good shocks/struts, decent brakes, functioning options, working ac....etc etc.

I would like the paint to be at least a 5-10 footer with no dents or obvious blemishes.

I would hope that other than regular wear, that the seats have no rips and the headliner is decent. The dash should have no cracks.

I guess what I am getting at is, is, that I would like to buy a solid daily driver. No red-neck specials (I already have one of those in my 89 formula 350).

I am not looking for a show car, but I do not need any major repair bills within a month or three of buying the car.

305/350 does not matter, though a 350 would be best. Has to be TPI though.

I really am looking for a purple haze camaro, but beggars can't be choosers, but I'll gladly shell out more cash for my favorite type of third gen.

I have between 3000-5300 to buy this vehicle. A 120k mile 305 89 model white with red interior, I'll offer 3000-3500 all day, but a Purple 350 with 90-100k is a 5000 car right now.


I am going to post a similar ad on the firebird side, because I lover these cars and I don't care if it is camaro or firebird....I just need another third.
