Good Sunday morning to all (1 Oct 2023!) This is my very first post on ThirdGen. I've been lurking on this site off and on through the years but in the last two months I've been on here a lot. I looked at my first 3th gen and test drove it 2 months ago. It was LS swapped and I really regret not giving the seller a deposit on the car. He had the car listed on craigslist for 3 weeks when I finally looked at it. The very next morning after I test drove the car, he sold it to someone else. All my fault. That car should be in my garage right now. All my fault.
I'm specifically looking for a 1985-1989 IROC. It must be no newer than 1989 because I want to be able to register the car and participate in Cruzin' the Coast on the gulf coast of Mississippi
CTC doesn't allow any cars newer than 1989. Anyway, I just wanted to get my first post in. I live in north Houston. Montgomery, TX to be exact. I've already traveled to NYC and to Atlanta to look at 3rd gens.
After looking at IROCs from coast to coast, I actually found one less than 3 hours from where I live. I took delivery of this 28,100 mile, 1987, 350 powered IROC on Valentine's Day 2025.
About to tow it home. It lightly rained on me the entire drive.
The next morning, I washed all the rain grime from the tow off of the car.
This picture was taken during my first drive of the car through my neighborhood.
The car wasn't cheap but I wanted one that didn't need to be painted. This car has been repainted a while back and still looks beautiful.
