Anybody you can suggest for a serious tune-up on a 305TPI Iroc
somebody that REALLY knows these systems?

You know, I have never come across someone that actually knows thirdgens quite well in the GV area.

If you travelled out to Surrey you could bring it to my Can Tire where I work as a Service Writer. We've got a good crew of guys that are actually experienced (unusual with the bigger operations) and I'd be there to check in on the car every minute

 

Hi, if by tuning you mean check that all the sensors, ignition, etc. are in good condition, diagnose any problems, replace any bad components to get the engine running great, then I've done that before.

I also burn chips and have done LT1 tuning too.

I myself have a '90 305 TPI and it put 230 RWHP and ~300 ft-lbs down with only headers and exhaust. Completely stock engine.

you guys have places that you get body work done, frame etc...

there's only so much I can do myself.

Why not just learn to burn your own eproms? I've doing it for years. If you are ever coming through the Kamloops area, I'be be happy to show what you need and how to use it.

It's far simpler than you think and not that expensive. Trust me, even if the guy knows what he's doing and has hands on experience, the amount of tuning done in a couple of hours is nothing to the tune you will get by constantly playing with it.

Also, you REALLY get to know who the ECM and all the sensor work in conjunction. Once you learn how to monitor your engine and understand all the sensor readings, you can often see things starting to happen before they become noticeable (and possibly cause a bigger problem).
