Did they put on any constraints regarding mileage? Or distance from home? I like to drive and from here to Ontario is part of the plan.
The other things that I'm interested in are modifications. Lift the hood on my car and it's pretty obvious it didn't roll off the factory floor like that. Likewise with the transmission and rear axle. And that's the part I want to have covered. Your insured value would just about replace the drivetrain whereas the body is, well, let's say it's nothing like your finished product. It could use a paint job.
Hi Skinny, they asked me how much kms I will be driving the car and I said around 8,000 kms. I also told them my car is all stock under the hood.....so I don't know the answer to your second question. I'm just amazed how much the value of a former rusty queen increases after all the bodywork/rust work and fresh paint job is done to it!

Thats a pretty good deal. How much was the appraisel?

I paid $6.68 a month for my 74 Camaro and it was a radical 11.5 second street car. That was at Intact but I did leave Intact and go elsewhere. You pay for a lot of expensive advertising at Intact and they won't give you any breaks. I saved 25% on house and cars by going else where after being with them 25 plus years.

As for the car they simply classified it as "muscle car" and the only restriction was it could not be used for a daily driver to and from work for instance.

A little up date on my rattle can paint job. Its going well. Advance Auto Body prepped the spray cans for me, 3 cans matched to car paint $25 each. Variable spray nozzles! Worked very well.

Re: Hello from Calgary, Alberta

Bought the car in May and as of this morning step 1 has been accomplished.
Before and after.

14 hours preparing the nose. 6 hours to paint nose. The fenders were new so no prep other than wet sand 800. 4 hours to sand fenders, 6 hours to mask off basically 1/2 the car and the engine bay. 3 hours to finish. Also not in pic but I spent at least 5-6 ours on the lower front fairing which is also finished and clear coated.
All rattle can. 38-40 hours.

Between sanding when it was needed I cleaned with slightly soapy (just a drop) water. Cleaned again with just water, dried with blue cloth. When is was fully dry I Tack clothed and went at it. Wore a mask, sprayed side to side. (not up and down except for a for a few corners and tight spots.

Paint match by a local shop in the cans and IMPORTANT used 2 stage clear coat on the whole thing. 2 hours later the clear coat is hard enough to brush up against and its fine.

It was raining so the garage doors were open and no dust! It IS orange peeled however next spring when that clear coat is rock hard I'll wet sand the work to 2000 and polish it all up.

The old paint is yellowed and not great but it should also shine up a little better. I tested a bit with just polish. The car was from Penticton and its corrosion free.
Don't care now because its all one color and it should stand up to some street strip work in a year or two.

NOW i can get to the rest of the car.

And I learned something that had me concerned since I couldn't find what was slowly draining the battery. That's a battery tender the line is going to under the hood.

I've had the hood up for 2 months! When I papered over the windshield and doors for painting I finally found the drain. I just acquired this and didn't know that down near the floor by the hood latch there was a light on, when the hoods open!
We'll be removing that bulb next time I work on it extensively.

A couple of detail pics.
I carefully masked of the inside rails and hinges. I only sanded the insides to 200.
One shot has the fairing and one tries to show the orange peel the clear coat leaves.
