Why is my amp shutting off
Ok i turned up the power on my amp yesterday and it just shut off. like it got hot or something. it was hot out yesterday. but if i turned my car off and back on it would come back on and hit till it got hot and shut off. well i turned it back down and it was fine. well today i bridged it and. it hit for just a couple hard hits and stoped. i thought it was the same thing but it wasnt and it ended up being that it blew the fuse by my battery. how do i prevent this from happening again. i have a profile 800 watt and a 8 gauge amp kit. i know profiles arent the best but i like it. please help i would like to have sound again and i want to get louder.
how many ohms is it running at? Usually on low price amps, when you run less than 4 ohms at a high volume it goes into protect mode and turns off. Your wires are 8 guage so that means your getting sufficent power if you ran directly all the way to the battery.
Nextly, make sure your grounds and connections are all tight. I had a loose remote wire once and took me a day to track it down. Stupid thing, amp kept turning off, turn stereo off then on again and 3 min later it was off.
Try those

so how am i supposed to get the max power of my amp so i dont only get to use half of it. well it is remanufactured and i have two poineer 12's with 450 watt max running of of them. and they are 4 ohm speakers but i tried bridging it and that is when it blew the fuse by my battery. what can i do to prevent that. and when i had it running unbridged i tried turning the amp up like the bass boost and the level and that is when it was getting too hot and shutting off

Run over a wiring check. I dont know to much on the electronic but I know my home stereo shuts off if you have the wrong wiring or if a wire is crossed. Thats what might be going on with your system, some crossed or grounded out wire. Other wise your might be able to have a electic dude check out the ams and make sure its not about to fry a fuse inside or something.
Not to offend you but is your fuse big enough for your stereo?
My stereo will draw 50 amps and it is not a huge stereo. You want your fuse to protect against shorts but not limit the amperage you normaly draw. You may need a larger fuse. 8 gauge wire is not that huge either. Amps can get hot trying to "pull" power from a wire that is too small.

I would definately upgrade to 4 gauge wire. While that may not solve your problems and like what was said earlier, it will help your amp out. At least use 4 gauge to get to the vicinity of the amp, then if you needed to you could run some 8 gauge to the amp. But I would recommend going to 4 gauge all the way.
What are the specs on the amp, like the info about power output at different ohms, etc. That will help some.
