XPlode M610 no worky worky.

Hi Guys. My M610 is doing something funny. When I play a CD, my subwoofer never comes on. If I switch to radio, the sub starts right up. Is my head unit fried, or is it just hooked up wrong? Any ideas.

if it works with the radio and not the Cd then it sound like a problem with the Hu and not the wiring

Umm. Just a thought but i know with my old Sony deck it would save settings so that the subs could be muted if i wanted to listen to radio with crappy quality and then have them on when i swithched to CD for that high definition crispness. However im sure you would have checked something like that. It just kinda confuses me as how it would work when the radios on and not the CD player. Also have you tried switching them over to a different pre-out and see if that does anything just make sure you set the crossover on the amp. Nothing like trying to pass a 32Khz signal through a sub woofer.

Its the head unit.... They should have a *** damn recall on that exact model.. I had the exact model and it did the exact same thing to me... I got pissed off one day after not being able to figure it out and smashed the **** out of it... Now I have my brand new Pioneer Premier Dolphin deck...

Are you sure that you didn't hook the amp up to the power antenna wire instead of the remote turn on? Some decks (alpine comes to mind) have separate wires for the remote and antenna.

I agree.......if you're going to replace your head unit get either Eclipse or Kenwood.....it the only way to go.

I've heard nothing, but bad things about the Xplode systems...sorry man

I have a complete sony set-up and have no problems with it and love it. It works great and I have had no problems with it. Most people that see it like it too. Seems that Sony haters are everywhere but Kansas, cuz all the peeps round here have at least one Sony component in there car, whether it be a CD Player, amp, sub, or 6x9's. I've never heard of half the problems you people say they have.

I have/had both. My Kenwood Excelon pulled on the wires from the MASK feature that they broke off and it didnt light up anymore. It was a GREAT HU unit, now I have a Eclipse and I love it too. 3 second ESP built into every new model, 3 sets of preouts and clear sound.
