sub setup questions- mismatched subs?

Right now I have an Alpine S-series 10 in a small basically square box that I either set down in the well or up where the t-top bag usually goes. If I set it where the t's go then it faces up/back towards the rear window, if I put it in the well it faces straight backwards. I'm trying to find antoher way to mount it where it would sound better (if there is a better way.)

I also have a cheaper pioneer 10 lying around that I was thinking I could put in a box in the spare tire well facing towards the driver's side. Would this sound screwy with two different subs pointed at two different angels? I'd probably use one amp to push them both. I know these are probably weird questions, but any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

I dont think that it would sound funky or anything, the Alpine would probably just be a bit louder. The only thing that you would really have to worry about is if one was a 10 and one was an 8 then you have to mess around a bit(my buddy that is a certified car tech told me this).

i deffinately would not use the same amp. every sub has its own unique response to a signal, thats why some are boomy while other are tight. you will hear a difference between the two subs. your sound may possibly get muddy cause each sub is not reproducing the sound the same. best bet would be to get another sub of the same type and size. mix matching will just make things worse.

If my box will fit in the spare tire well, would it sound good to set it in there? (With the Alpine sub by itself)
