antena

ok i get almost no channels in my radio and i have changed headunits so i know its the antenna so i am gonna get a new one. my question how do i get it off the fender? i unscrewq the actual antenna part the its still in there how do i get to this without takin off the fender? thanks

Does it say how to in one of those detailed auto books from auto zone or dragens? Do you have one? If you dont have one I will check mine and get back to you tonight.

You need to pull off the inner fender on the passenger side. It's black plastic, and is held to the outer fender (the painted one) by plastic rivets. Pull the center out of the rivet out with a pair of pliers. (Uh, don't pull the center all the way out. It'll stop near the end.) Then wiggle the whole rivet out. The inner fender is held to the framewell/wheelwell by 9/32" screws.

Then the factory antenna is not only held on at the fender, but it's also got a lower brace to it, which is held to the frame by one 10mm screw. I yanked my power antenna, and put a $15 "normal" black antenna on the fender. I didn't re-use the frame brace at all. The hardest part of this install will be routing the new antenna wire.

well thank u for all the infoon the antenna. i thought thats wut it was but i poped out my head unit and checks the antenna adapter cause i never changed it and reused it. well the guy i bought the car from did a half as job. he got the wrong adapter so he shoved the antenna in it and taped it lol . well i went and bougth a new adapter for 11 bucks tonight and put it on and i get every station and its all 10x clearer. i was actually gonna replace mny 6x9's but when the bass is on 0 witch i run them on cause i have subs they scream so loud and clear all the way to 80 and i can't stand them there so loud. well thanks guys
