Sub box I've been thinking about...
Has anyone put a sub box in the cubby to the right of your hatch? So that if you were to open the little locked door you would see the box? I have 1 10" sub and I was thinking of putting it in there. Do you think there would be enough room?
Any ideas are welcome
Thanks

Well the only thing on the right side of my car in the back is the spare tire so I'll assume that you mean the left side. Anyways if you were to custom fiberglass the box I think that you could get a 10" sub in there. Just makee suree that you brace thee panel so It dosen't vibrate.

The reason I wanted to put my sub on the drivers side was so that I could retain the spare tire. I don't like the idea of running without it
My biggest problem (other than no time to build it) is I still need a small amp to power it. I olny need 100 watts total, any suggestions?
Thanks

Just buy a can of that fix-a-flat faom stuff for when your tire has a leak or gets flat in the middle of nowhere, of your tire blows, you probably should have repolaced it a while ago so it could have been prevented.
it is possible to make a box that will fit in either. You coudl custom make a box taht would fit in the spare tire comparment much easier than a cubed box. It will look better and could possibly get it to sound better also. As for the small compartment on the left side, that would be more of a challenge cause you ahve to keep in mind the cubic inch measurements.
Yes it can and has been done, but the only way I would recomend it is if you are capable of building with fiberglass.
There is just about enough room in there to squeeze a 1cu ft enclosure if you glass in the whole area with an MDF baffle face. I would also recomend that if you are going to do run fiberglass up along the inside of the rear quarter that you place a layer of dynamat super or even a 1/8" foam rubber to give you cusion against the fender and the fiberglass.
This is actually in a 4th gen, but Mike (DJSexay) has done several versions of enclosures in these areas.
