Where to MOunt?
Whats up guys. I have been considering getting a camaro for a while now and i have decided to buy onje. Probably one of the 89-92 versions. My question is this, since the cars comes with 2 speakers, its obvious to install door speakers. However, where would u mount amplifiers and subs, if u wanted to keep some trunk space.
our cars come with 4 speakers... but you CAN install door speakers... i went with kick panels... they are great... but amplifiers... search the boards.... a few have them in the backseats.. too much work... or in the well... you can design or buy a box 2 fit flush in the well... you could put a 12 on one side and mount ur amp somewhere on the box... or under it or something....
We usually have 4 speakers. 2 in the dash and 2 behind the sail panels.
The main reason that these cars don't have speakers in the doors is because the power window motor is in the way.
The most obvious place to add speakers is make/buy kickpanels. You could, however, make custom door pods if you really wanted to.
You could mount amps under the seats, within the back seat, behind the trim panels in the trunk, in the well, on the hump, ect. Use your imagination. If you can think of it, then it can probably be done.
If you want to maximize your trunk space than think about how that can be done. Use one sub instead of two. Use a smaller sub instead of a bigger one. Use a sealed box instead of a ported one. Use a sub with a smaller box volume requirement than a different sub. Use one 5 or 6 channel amp to drive your entire system instead of several amps. Use an amp with a built in crossover instead of separates. See how this works?
