wiring alpine type r dvc to 360a2\\\\\\\??

Heres the deal. I got a rockford 360a2 amp, and I want to buy a 12" alpine type r dvc. Heres my question, how would I wire this to get the most out of the sub and the amp. I mean how would I wire the voice coils and everything. Please be specific. Thanks alot for any help you guys are great!

No, but they just don't always seem to contain information that you can't get answered on your own by reading your owner's manual or manufacturer's websites.

Make sure you get a sub with dual 8 ohm coils and wire them in parallel (your sub's owners manual will show you how to parallel wire it). If you get the more common dual 4-ohm coils, you'll either wire it to a 2 ohm load that will eventually kill the amp, or you'll have to wire it in stereo and the amp won't make any power.

I don't think that Alpine Type Rs come in dual 8 ohm coils. They come in 4 ohm and also come in dual 2 ohm coils. Get the 2 ohm coil version so that you can wire them in series to get 4 ohms.

Yup. I didn't realize they had a dual 2 but not a dual 8. Like Justin said, series-wire the two coils on each sub, and parallel-wire the two subs.

I would have to say try to get ahold of the dual 2ohm's and wire it in parallel. A rockford amp should hold 1 ohm easy.

ok ate ikesound.com they dont have dual 2 ohm. So would I want to get single 4 ohm? I dont know anything about wiring dual ohm subs or anything like that, I know to hook up the positve and negative, and thats about it.

ok, the Rockford amp and that sub would run best if you wire the 2 coils in parallel. Get a single dual 4ohm sub, wire in parallel to drop the ohm's to 2, this will allow the amp to pump more power to the sub allowing it to hit harder. The Rockford amp can handle a sustained 2ohm load easily.

We said that it says in the Subwoofer manual AND the amplifiers owners manual how to wire your subs! They have diagrams and everything!

You wire the positive from one coil to the positive on the other and run the wire from that coil to the amp and do the same for the negative. that will run it in parallel and bring the ohm's down

Thanks for the nice response ramairZ. To the other, I dont have the sub yet, I am checking into it before I buy it so I know what I am getting into, therefore I dont have the book. I know my fair share about car audio, like amps and all, but I just had a couple questions thats all. Other people ask alot stupied question that I do.
