head unit wont keep memory

my panasonic head unit will not keep the memory. how would i rig a constant power wire to give it juice? or what does the constant wire look like inside the console area? there are lots of loose wires back there and i have no clue which one is the constant or how to hook it up. thanks.

there should be a fat yellow wire which is constant 12v.. if not, you can run a new one from the fuse panel, or if need be, the battery... make sure to test the wire with the car off, in acc, and in run to make sure it has 12v at all times before hooking it up...

It is a real low amp draw, so then no it wont drain your battery, if its working right. You have better get your chraging system fix or you battery replaced if you alwasy have to disconnect it.

Thats the first thing to do, then hook up the memory wire, and you wont loose your stations.

sounds like you have a bigger problem if your battery drains overnight. if anything, get your battery checked out and/or replaced. if that doesn't fix your problem (and you don't know what the drain is), your gonna have to start searching through your electrical lines to figure out what's wrong.

As far as the headunit, there should be a wire on the back of it that you haven't connected yet, most likely yellow. Hook this up to a constant 12v power source (fuse box is good, even the battery directly, but if there is already a constant power wire in there for the radio, use that). It won't keep the headunit on fully, like play CDs and whatnot, but it will help keep your memory. It shouldn't drain too much power at all.
