Will altering the angle that the front speakers are mounted at make them sound better

So, I'm not getting kicks right now, and I had a thought. First I thought that if you tilted the front speakers so that instead of sitting flat, the side closest to the driver was lower than the side closest to the window, then the sound would travel more directly to the listener. Then I thought if sound waves are reflected like light is , then doing what I described would end up with the sound reflecting into the headliner and sounding worse. Thoughts? What about putting separate tweeters in the A-pillar? Is that going to be too far from the mid for proper sound?

Thanks,
Dan

I don't think you should alter their angle. The sound hits the windshield and deflects the sound waves right to you.

Does moving a speakers angle improve the percieved SQ? YES!!!!! The most time consuming part of building kicks is getting the angle just right. Would doing what you are saying help, not sure never tried it. Give it a whirl, if it helps good job! If not just mount them normally and wait until you can afford kicks or whatever.

I doubt it will make it sound any better FWIW, but thats no reason not to try it.

Changing the angle will make them sound different. Whether it sounds better depends on how much time you spend experimenting with the angles.
