Speakers in kicks without custom panels???

I was wondering if it was possible to mount a set of speakers down it either the kick panel area or the corner of the door panel without buying any custom panels. I don't want to spend another 100 some odd dollars for the panels, mainly because I'm one of the cheapest people alive. If possible, what size/brand/type of speakers should I get?? I currently have Pioneer 4x6s and 6x9s in the stock locations, a Pioneer head unit, a Kenwood amp, and a Kenwood 12" sub. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

If you could just slap a set of speakers down there, everybody would be doing it already. There's no depth behind the kicks.

If you've got a phillips screwdriver, you can check it out yourself. There's two screws, and the panel pulls out. Once you've got it out, there's nothing but sheet metal starring back at you. No depth at all.

Same problem with the doors except, I think there is power window motors at the bottom right corner; pretty much eliminating that possibility (w/o heavy customization).

The cheapest, easiest way to get a decent front stage is the kicks. And $150 for kicks (REZN8ER) is damn good.

If the stereo is important to you, which it seems like it is with the equipment you've got, just save your money and make a wise purchase.

Companies would have a VERY hard time selling there products if you could just place speakers there without their products.......

its really not that hard to put speakers in the doors if you dont mind holes in your door panels.. but the kick panels sound WAY better. Or you could do both like me

That's right. It's a conspiracy. Thousands of do-it-yourself'ers around the country have been duped into thinking there's no room. You can actually fit a 10" sub up there, but the promotions department of Q-Forms has spent millions on propaganda trying to convince the thousands of car owners out there all these years that there actually isn't room.

I would have to disagree on that "no depth" thing. After taking off my panels, I found a hole that was being covered by some black insulation. I wouldn't mount a speaker in it, but it is possible. Maybe a 4" or something. I'll see if I have a pic to show you the hole. My alarm had some things installed there (aftermarket), so a speaker or anything else in the hole is off for me.

I have to disagree with the depth problem. I just mounted two 5.25 inch audiobahns in my kicks. But it might be different for me because I had the bose system so maybe I have more depth in the kicks.

I believe that with the bose kick panels you can fit a shallow pair of aftermarket speakers.
