i think its a pretty good system i have planned. okay im going to by a pinoerr (spellin) head unit i think the part number is like PH-6400 or something but next im goin to get a jensen 200watt amp and a jensen bandpass sub box with 2 10's in it. thats rated at 750watts. my question is, is that will the 200 watt amp be enuff to power the sub box or should i save and get the 600 watt? i dont want to over do anything im just puttin a small easy system in my car. my friend had the same sub box in his civic and the box was in his trunk and he was blastin it while i was in and that was hittin very hard. i dont know what kinda amp he had, ill have to ask him.

but do u guys think its good deal for my car as a small system? and plus i can get all of this for about $550 bucks and thats with tax but with the 600 watt amp, the amp costs 149.99 and the 200 watt costa 99.99. so for $550 i get the headunit , amp, and sub box. and then ill have to buy a wiring harness and a wiring kit for the amp and all that fun stuff.

 

well as everyone else is gunna say, Jensen is garbage. if thats what you want, then go for it.

 

before anyone else slams on Jensen, (im not sticking up for them) but i had a friend that had that bandpass box with the 2 jensen tens, he had it in the back of an 86 honda accord, and powered it with a jensen 600 watt amp, it slammed! but then he got 2 12" amercan Pro subs, and a legacy 1600 watt amp, and it was louder, so that just shows that the jensen aint that great if it can be beat by 2 american pro 12"s but it souded good for the $250 he paid for it

 

My Jensen 12'' slams like a ****. It was a budget decision, but I (and just about everyone else) are amazed by the sound. I will be changing it out later, when the money is available. Build a good box and you should be happy with the results.

 

if ur looking for Jensen... i got a Jensen ATS 300W amp that i used for about 2 months... great amp IMO...

hell yeah hey Tim remember the 600 watt amp jensen ralph has in his car and even those two 12 inch x-plodes sounded great in his littelpiss ant civic so yeah i had the pioneer 200 watt amp and that thing barely even made any noise for my two pioneer 6x9's just remember if you wanna bump even farely get at least a 400 watt system at the least 600 watts is very comffy for a back massadge :lala:

 

I bought a Jensen 10" subwoofer from Wal-Mart two years ago for $30 and its rated at 450 watts max. It took 1500 watts to blow it ( An Earthquake Shredder blew it) Its a 3000watt amp.

 

jensen subs dont suck because they blow when you feed them too much wattage.. thats the same for any sub. they suck because they dont sound good. sure, they might sound alright to you when you first put em in, but as you keep playing them they lose quality.. you wont notice it of course, because you are the one listening to it, and the transitions are so small.. but then you'll get in someone elses car that has a good system and you'll hear how bad yours is in comparison. if you're not in to stereo systems at all and you just want some music to come out of your speakers over the freeway noise, maybe a jensen setup is good or you. if you ever want it to sound any better tho, you're going to need to upgrade pretty much everything--so be certain what you want before you start purchasing. rather than buying subs and amps now, you could invest in a good $200-250 alpine cd player.. then when you get some more cash, you can begin upgrading your speakers and add amps and such.. dont half-*** it just cause you're short on money right now, unless a jensen setup is really what you want in the long run.

 

well the head unit is a $279 pionerr head unit and its the best we have at work (pepboys) and yea im kinda gettin bored with my crapy little rapage stereo and i think the speakers might be pionerr im not sure though. but they arnt stock. but would the 600watt amp be more than good for just the sub box? or should i go with the 200watt so i dont blow anything?

 

sounds to me like you're going to end up "upgrading" (read: replacing) your components a little down the line.. if you absolutely have to have something now, might as well make it cheap cause you're gonna be ripping it out in a few months anyway i would strongly recommend holding out just a little bit longer until you can get a little bit nicer stuff--it will sound much better, and you wont have wasted any time or money with inferior products.

 

well i wanna do this little system for now. for upgrading it, i doubt id upgrade it anytime soon. after this im puttin most if not all my money towards front and rear suspention and then more money towards the motor again. so this system would be a very large upgrae for me now, considering what i have now.

 

yo tim just remember the more wattage the more of a bump and power to make that bump 200 watts dont be powerfull enough to even power your two 6x9's in the back there
your just better off with a decent 400 watt 2 channel or something

 

steve if u think becuz u had that piece of crap pionerr 200watt amp u think all 200 watt amps suck. if u go into pepboys one day go over to the radio and speaker display and since the only head unit that works on the display is the sony becuz of how the people who built the display screwed up the wiring but still if u turn the sony head unit and the jensen 200watt amp on and play either of the 2 subs that are connected the 200 watt does more then the one piece of crap u have. if u dont believe me ill bring u to work on thursday and ill show u.

 

well how about everyone else can anyone else back me up? about the 200 watt system? i had two amps a pioneer and a rampage the rampage was cool but barely moved two cheap *** optimus 10's :lala:
