Ignition noise after interior makeover
I recently swapped my interior over from grey to black and seem to have picked up ignition noise in the process. I've gone over the entire system from battery to speakers and I still can't eliminate it. Here's what my system consists of:
Rockford Fosgate 8360 CD player
Alpine 3547 amplifiers (2)
Alpine T-500 amplifier (1)
MB Quart 5.25" seperates
JL Audio 6.5" midbasses
JL Audio 10W0 (2 in sealed enclosure)
Alpine 4313 subwoofer controller
Soundquest RCA,power,speaker cables
Optima deep cycle gel cell battery
Anyone have any tips? I've gone through every inch of this system and I'm baffled as to the cause. It definitely is ignition noise though. I've made sure that everything was put back in it's previous location before the swap so as to help prevent this.
Anyone?

Power wires have been run down the driver's side and the signal cables have been run down the passenger's. The noise does rise and fall with engine rpm. Could the battery be at fault? Even though it's an Optima Deep Cycle it is 6 years old. Can these types of batteries wear out? I experienced this same problem when I had a conventional battery with a voltage drop to around 11.5 volts. I switched to a new batery and the problem was solved. The Optima has a voltage of 12.0. The noise started about two weeks ago but the interior swap happened almost 6 weeks before that. Any further thoughts or advice?
if you had the same problem before, and swapping batteries fixed it, you might want to grab a battery (a friends, a spare, out of another car, whatever) and temporarily hook it up to see if it fixes it again. ive never heard of a battery causing that before, more probably its going to be a ground loop--does the noise persist when you disconnect the rca cables?

Had the same problem, was the RCA cables...one started to split slightly where it meets the connector...bought some super-high quality shielded stuff, no problems since.

Well,I've narrowed it down to the rear amp. I disconnected the RCAs from it and the noise stopped. Now to figure out whether it's the amp itself or something else. Any more tips?
If you disconnected the rca's from the amp and the noise went away its either the rca's getting noise induced into them or something else up the chain (head unit, external processors) NOT the amp.
