Yeah, my deck just puked on me.

Actually it's just the cd part.
Any Ideas on how much it will cost to get fixed?

if I were you I would just buy a new one, unless the one you already have is pretty new. I would suggest the new JVC line, they are amazing.

Like everything built nowdays, when it breaks and the warrenty is expired, toss it and buy a new one. Most shops charge a fee to look at it just to tell you whats wrong, then the soak you on parts and labor. Plus, after you fix it, something else would prolly break.

I had an alpine 7863 crap out on me when something shorted out with the remote turn on wire and it wouldn't play any sound. I still don't believe the remote turn on caused the problem but anyway it only cost me like 70 bucks to have it fixed at a local electronic repair shop that was authorized by Alpine.

Why another ///Alpine???

If your Alpine deck crapped-out after a year, why did you buy another Alpine to replace it??? I made the same mistake.

I bought an Alpine after killing my Kenwood, paying $70 to get it fixed and killing it again. After a year, the Alpine quit playing CD's (and shortly after it got stolen). I gave Alpine a 2nd chance and bought another one. Now my 2nd Alpine is cashed. I won't be buying another Alpine. I think I'll try Pioneer next.

Eventually, I'll run out of manufacturers and when I'm 80 years old, I'll have to start over and buy another Kenwood.

I got the JVC SH707 Digifine 2.2 MP3/CD/CDR/CDRW player in my 92 B4C. Its sweet!!! Was $235 I have a ghetto Clario DXR 5 series in my 90 RS (was $50), a nice Clarion DXR 7 series in my truck (Was $350 new) and in my mustang I dont have jack shiz ... it dont have a dash or a console!!! But when I do get the 94+ dash.console in there I plan to install my electronic boost controller where the stereo would usually go.

I really enjoy it. I will get the extended warrenty on it.
I talked to a rep at Alpine, and they have decided they will fix it for me for free, so I don't have any problems....

I like ALPINE. Been using them for years. They are very good, and have superb customer support. Some of the best customer support I have ever had. That will bring anyone back......
