I left my car sitting in the garage for about 10 days, without starting it up, well today I went to go for a drive, and I went to turn on some music, and whenever I turn up my head-unit past a certain point, my amp shuts off....I checked for shorts and looked through all the wires and I can't figure out what the problem is...it worked perfectly the last time I used it 10 days ago...

the amp is an American Legacy LA490 if that makes any difference....yeah I know it's a piece of crap...I'll buy better stuff when I get money in october or november...thanks for your help.

 

Are you powering subs with it? What load are you presenting to it? I doubt it will handle anything less than 4ohm mono/2ohm stereo...so if you have a 2ohm mono on it thats the reason why.

You could also have the gains up to high and having it overdrive itself then shut off...
