Radio goes out randomly
Here's the deal. The radio goes out when:
Turn headlights on.
Turn rear defroster on.
Windows reach the top of the a-pillar.
Shift into park (sometimes).
Randomly when I am driving (sometimes).
The radio always comes back on after a couple of seconds but it's the most annoying thing in the world.
I have a Sony CD Player (silver face finish). Does anyone know what is going on and how I can fix it??? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks
Steve

Had a buddy of mine that put a sony deck in his 86 bimmer had similar problems. It might be a loose ground or something in the power wire shorting out. Pull the deck out and check all the wires. Ill bet that is where the problem is originating.

Check for a poor ground. This would cause a bad voltage drop and cause the radio to turn off when a sudden drop in voltage is presented to the car's electrical system.
