Gee guys, do ya think that maybe he wants so much money for the plans because he'd rather not sell them.

Hell....... if it was me, I'd charge $90 for the box and $180 for the plans. Some people on eBay are stupid enough to buy them.

A friend of mine (well maybe I shouldn't admit he's a friend) bought a "Truck lid flip kit" from a guy for $35. It's so you can open your trunk lid and have it parallel with the car instead of perpendicular.

Guess what he got..

Two little hinges about the right size for a jewelry box, and two straight little rods to pin the trunk lid to the arms to keep it shut. :sillylol:

What can I say, he drives a Hyundai. (Hey that rhymes )

Well I am getting a new comp soon (within 2 weeks) and plan on putting some decent html software on it and photoshop to make a decent thirdgen website. I would definately make a page devoted to your boxes pics, airspace, stats, shipping info, whatever you want me to put up there, plus the vid!
All you gotta do is send a fire filled box to its concrete destined death on vid for us
You can get a good name for em like Jake Oven Bake Boxes, or something better lol.

Hmm.... lets review some DO's and Dont's

Dont!

1>set the box on fire when you can use photochop to so that. You dont have to throw away money like that.

2> Buy rip off html software. (reason is listed below)

DO!

1>get a web page to sell your boxes

2>summit your web pages to search engines (eg. yahoo, google, msn, aolsux, and what ever else you can find)
>well you can get a service that will do that for you and a load of them at that. About 30 of them at a time this way random people just about everywhere will find your site and want boxes. Pretty soon you might have to start hiring people to make the boxes because who knows how many people will want to buy them. Sounds like a good way to start a business for cheap.

3>Learn HTML QUICK!
>check below to create your first web page in about 5 minutes or less.

This is what it does, it adds to all these extra commands to your html so that the program can interpret the html text. What does that do? Well it eats up alot of web space and real web space cost $. If you run over 5-10MB then you cross that line that separates free from your wallet. I would say its best to pay. I got about 200MB for a year that ran me about 30 bucks. Anyway by the time your done with your page it turns out to be twice as big as one if you were to create it with notepad. I think the note pad is easier to use also. + you can take those skillz and use them here.

]>HTML with a notepad
Try it!!!

>You need first to make a folder and thats as easy as going to my documents or something and right clicking anywhere a going to new> folder

>now open a notepad
>Type in "My Web page full of krap"
>Go to file and click SAVE AS
>save this as "whatever you want.html"

>now open that folder that you created in my docs.
>you should see a blue "E" with a notepad behind it
>open this
>notice it opened in a internet explorer window, yeah cause its a web page

>Now you can start haveing fun with the page
>here are a few tips that you can start with

>Tags, well a tag is just a command that you type in the notepad to tell it what you want to do. Well what you want your web page to do.
>lets say that you want to change the background color of your page. I like the color black so i'll use it as a example.

This is what you type in to change the background color of you web page.
>You dont have to use the " " they are just there cause they are.

<BODY bgcolor="black">

>There is your first tag. K save, file save, click the same blue E that you had before. If you dont see it make sure that the drop down box says "ALL FILES"
>there it is, after clicking the blue E click save and yes to replace the existing file.
>if you still have your web page open in the internet explorer window then you can just hit the refresh button and it will refresh and show you the new background.

>Now you have a plain black page WOW! thats freaking boring!
>Lets add a tiltle

<FONT SIZE="+4"font color=red>Type your title here</FONT>

You might want to center that well use this tag
<CENTER></CENTER>

Then If you like pix on your page put them in the same folder that you are making the rest of this stuff in and use this tag.

type this in the note pad
<IMG SRC="nameofyourpic.jpg">

Getting the hang of TAGS yet? Its easy as he!l here are some other tips that may help you.

>if you right click the page hit "V" then it brings up the notepad that you are to add the tags in

>if you left click file then press the letter "S" it will quickly save your page. (make sure you know what it is going to save as before doing this. If you dont it could save over the wrong html doc. This has happen t me and can destroy hours worth of work. If your not sure click file then go to save as to be sure)

>F-5 will refresh your page if you tired of hitting the button

This page has everything you need to know to start out.

http://pageresource.com/

Damn now I want to sell stuff on the net....Hmm maybe.

Oh yeah one more thing. TAGS there is a open(start) tag and and a closed (end) tag. That center one is a good example. the closed tags you will find this kinda slash / Make sure you type in everything else in the middle of these tags.

>If you have any questions or need help with that just PM me. I'm on this site pretty much everyday since my Job is providing tech support over the phone for the internet I get to be on the internet 40hrs a week. Thats why some would call be a post *****.

>I'll make anyweb page that you want for the low LOW price of 500.00 buck. Hehh Well that just business. LOL just kidding I'll help out if you need. I dont do much here at work except wait for customers computers to reboot.

I wondered. I was telling my wife, "either he is holding onto the parking cover or he chopped it, there is no way he is actually standing on that thing"

Are you going to just sell third gen boxes or are you going to go all out? I could probably get info on some boxes custom for other cars if you would like.

the other boxes i was going to do were basically trunk and truck boxes.

Hmm Ive had the dimensions of my box posted on my website for a few years. Its not that hard to go measure for yourself. Getting the proper airspace for your subs is the hard part.

problem is, i dont own any other cars. if someone wanted a custom box for a car and i didnt even know anyone that owned one, it would be pretty hard to measure it myself.

Well maybe you should expand and make all kinds of boxes. I mean if you put these on your site someone might say HEY! can you make me something like that? With the quality boxes that I'v seen from your post you should have no problems. Try working with fiber glass bet that would sell like crack.

this came up in another post... what do you guys think about a box that goes in place of the rear seats. if enough people are interested i might make one (or two so its easier to get in the car). let me know what you guys think.

thanks,

My concern is the weight issue.

But, I guess if you're replacing your seats with subs, you're not exactly building your car for speed.
