First off Yes, you can very easily get 2 12's in a thirdgen... Maybe not in a bandpass box but in a sealed box its definately possible...
Next... try the search button its really helfpul...
To get you started try looking at posts by REZN8R and redbird_400. They both make boxes for thirdgens that would fit two 12's

redbird doesnt make boxes, he might in the future but not right now. Rezn8r is not taking orders for MDF boxes. Get ahold of tamu130(i think that is it) He is selling them for cheap and they are real nice. As far as subs go, I prefer alpine type r's and JL audio. But like you said it is up to your ears. As far as amps go, you cant go wrong with JBL they have the 600.1 for $205 and the 1200.1 for $285 at ikesound. The 600 pushes around 700rms and the 1200 pushes around 1400 rms.

damn i dont know all those other numbers all i know is the more watts you have the more power you have to work with and how many channels you have to work with that and LPF and HRP and MPF and all those settings i was thinking of a jensen 600 watt 4 channel it has a switch to make it from a 4ch to 3 ch and to a 2ch with LPF and HPF switches i like it because i can select the bump factor haha if there anyother amps out there that can do that id be glad to be told which ones those are but i know 600 watts is more than enough to power the 12's in my friends trunk so ill go with that

Hey Man. It'll be damn near impossible to put a BP box in your car. Q-Logic is a company that makes a box for our cars, it comes for 2x12 or 2x10. You can look at www.crutchfield.com for spec if you want. It has the price on there too.

screw qlogic. You will save probably half the cost on a box by going with tamu130. That is a decent amount of money to put towards the subs and amp.

Yeah check out my post, its the monster ***** post over there about fiberglass boxes. The other day I was sanding the inside with the orbital sander and it was making the box viberate a low and LOUD humm. My bro who was in the parking lot working on his truck walks up and says damn thats some real loud bass you got there. Heh... It was pretty loud and I hope it works just as well with speakers in it.

Corect me if i'm wrong but I hear shape inside the box doesnt have much to do with the sound coming out. If thats the case I can make my box into a Badpass box. I would just have to make the top a little higher and @ an angle. That would be cool. I think I'll try and photochop that first though.

As soon as I'm done with this box here I'm going to start making others to sell off of ebay. This one is just taking a while cuzz I have to make the inside and out perfect, then paint flames on both inside and out. With a clear top and red neon lights on the inside its going to be phatt!

Here is what I did today...http://www.geocities.com/pixdir2002/good_tea.gif

I have a dual 10" bandpass box in my car right now. I just folded down the back seat and sat a normal 10" box on top. You can do that if you're set on using bandpass. A 12" sub box would just be a little taller. When I get the money, I want to get a custom box for the trunk well with a couple 12" Kicker Solobarics. But that may be a while.

yes im going to go with 2 12's ive listened to 10's and 12's and in my opinion 12's can hit lower notes than most 10's but im guessing it depends on the amp, head, and spkrs too i know x-plodes suck *** when it comes to mutiple bass notes some dont sound at all then bam low end kicks in ill tell ya one thing the x-plodes hit hard *** low notes but i dont plan on getting them they sound good in sedan car, but not a hatch
