New cd player turns off for no reason.
Hey guys,
I just bought a Pioneer Deh-1400 cd player and when I'm driving around the system all of sudden shut off and then comes backs on. It does this when playing cd's or when listening to the radio. I checked all of the wire connections and they are all fine. I noticed that most of the time when I am taking turns or driving over bumps this problem happens.

Are you certain your wires are ok? To me, it sounds like a shorting problem. If your connections are good, maybe you have a torn wire somewhere. Worst case scenario is something it loose inside the headunit. Bring it back to the store you got it from and have them replace it. If you're really stuck (no receipt, no returns, etc), bring it to a car audio shop and have them test it out. If something's screwed up inside, they can fix it.
check your speakers
I had this kind of problem before when I drove my truck. I would drive hit a bump and the headunit would completely go out. Aftermarkets are built with an automatic shutoff if it shorts. I replaced my speakers and I found one of my speakers were shorting. I had installed low hz blockers and they were grounding with the wall. good luck!

I found out what the problem was, the accesory wire was shorting out someplace. I couldn't find the short in the wires, so I wired the accesory wire from the head unit to a 12volt source in the fuse boxes only when the ignition is on. I have been driving around for a few days now and it doesn't shut off anymore. Thanks for the info.
