power problems (i think)

I got my 2 12" kickers and kicker 120.2 amp. They are in a sealed box up on the top part of the trunk area(on top of the gas tank). Anyways, sometimes the bass will just turn off. I can turn the volume down and it will come back on, but then it is to quite to hear the music. Also sometimes when I put on the brake everything gets quiter for a few seconds. I still have the stock alternator in there. Would that be what is causing it? Thanks

faulty ground, make sure its less than 3 feet long, make sure your remote wire -blue- is connected well and make sure the power wire is clean with no gashes or holes in it, could be grounding out into the frame somewhere, ...also check the connection of the wire going to your amp at the battery....i think its a ground problem though...make sure you scrape away the paint where you are grounding it....also you can get nappa or any other store to check your alt. for free, ....electrical problems are a bitch, ...id say start by checking the ground though
