AHHHH, one of my Polk Crossovers blew!

FRIGGIN' CRAP! The woofer in my kick panel cut out. SO i pulled out the crossover to loosen the wires and I heard a rattling. Opened it up and the white little box thingy was broken completely off the board. I looked at it and on the under side of it seemed like burn marks.

So, i gave it a shot and soldered it back on to see (Matched the letter as the other one just incase theres a certain way it goes). Now i can hear the speaker, but barely. The passenger side is 75% louder.

Is there a way Polk would send me a new one? I went to their site but the closest i can get to support/contact is the dealer location area. figures.

Heres what I'm talking about, cept my camera has to have PERFECT lighting for it to focus. jerkedoff Kodak DC-240.

Looks like a ceramic resistor.

How old are they?

you'd think they would stand behind their products.. did you try calling a dealer location? usually they have the procedure for repair/replacement...

Just look at the resistor and see what size it is. IT should say something like 4 and then the green "omega" symbol. OR cut off or desolder the other end and take it to radio shack to get a replacement.

You can get a new resistor, but make sure you get the same watts as well as the resistance. If a resistor that big started to burn, chances are that something else got burned too. I'd take it to a shop with your receipt and try to get it covered under warranty.
