When bumping, severe rattling heard from outside

I have a Kicker Solo L7. When I bump, it sounds beautiful inside, but from the outside, the whole cabin is rattling and sounds like pure crap. The license plate rattles and the F-body towards the rear rattles. Im not sure that dynomatting would even help in an open 3rd gen cabin. Any one had this problem?

i fixed alot of my problems just by tightening stuff up, it seems like stuff comes loose as it gets older. other than that i've also found that the soft side of velcro is a nice way to keep things from touching (thus rattling) just get some of it with one sticky side and voila! ohya, a thick coat of rubberized undercoating spray helps too, but that doesnt really ever need to be used.

now that the door is ripped apart close it and blast the subs again... the rattle should be very loud now that its in the open, if nothing rattles then it has to be something that you took off

ummm just stick something between the 2 things that are rattling, make sure it will stay there though or the problem will come back. duct tape works pretty well. also check the vents inside the door jam, they arent on the door but on the body instead. if you have 6X9's hitting hard then it forces air out them the wrong way and that rattles alot. just take it off then take the back of the vent off and remove the rubber... gasket type thing. then replace and thats finished, while the tools are out you should probalby do that anyway because any amount of bass from the 6X9's will make those rattle. good luck

This is an obvious find, but sometimes your deck mounting kit (plastic usually) can slip, and rattle to the base too. I had to get it remounted.

I mean for your deck. Your stock stereo is pulled, then your new one is there, but as you know, new stereos are skinnier. They require that plastic mounting kit. That mounting kit, right in the front, I found was rattling. I turned my head, to see where it was comin from. When I placed my finger on it, it stopped. It is basically the kit that is holding your deck in place. The surrounding plastic basically was rattling.

I had the problem of stuff rattling on my saturn (the body is plastic so alot of stuff rattles) mount stuff in sheet ruber like they use for truck bed mats and smooth 1/4 inch works good also just use liquid nals and put it straight on the back of the licence plate and it wont sound like a banjo any more i dont know if it better on an f-body (steel body) because my firebird is gutted inside its becoming a drag car, but im buying another f body probaly an IROC Camaro that im keeping road legal in this spring because i need to build credit because i paid cash for my firebird, and my parents bought my saturn back in may for my 16 birthday

I've had the problem with the 6X9 rattles, I fixed that by going to aftermarket boxes (also sounds better because you can Aim them)

The License plat rattles can be fixed by putting two more bolts along the bottom of the plate

The only rattle I can't get rid of is from underneath the car. Can't even find what is rattling, but it is under the car.

first of all to stop most of the rattling i ripped up the rear carpet and laid down just basic foam then pull the door panels off and wrap thin foam around the rods for the lock and inside handle when the bass hits those rods hit the door metal. come on did it really take a 17 year old to figure this out!

Guys, I was driving the other day, and did something incredibly simple that made a world of difference. I was playin that new 8mile CD, and I noticed a rattling from the inside. I know I was concerned about the exterior racket, but this is strictly inside. It was coming from the passenger door. It was the plastic cover thing that runs at the top of the passenger door, right below the window. You hold that with your finger, and the rattling stops. I just need to find a way to keep it that way. Its the plastic top part that runs the full length of the door, right below bottom part of the window.

From the hinge of the door, to where a doorlock stem would be (on most cars).

I havent found a real solution, but check it buy simply turning the subs or stereo up, pinpoint where the rattling is, and press your finger against possible spots. I havent found a way to fix it, but I'm working on it. Find the problem first. Use them ears.
