ack think I need audio help
I am using a infinity perfect 10.1 sub with a cheap performance teknique amp
the amp is bridged
problem is that when the amp gets turned up above half way right now the speaker starts to get real distorted
also I can sometime hear something that sounds like a rattle or like a quick hit to a solid object come from the box
could it just be a ****ty box
a box that is too large or what
it does it on any amp I have tried
the box is about 14l*14w*6depth on top with 8"depth on bottom
what gives?

what other amps have you tried? that is a pretty nice sub, so it might be the lower quality amps you are using. distortion causes that.

i would suggest trying it out on a brandname amp that has at least 200watts. that will give you an idea if it is either the amp or the sub. good luck

same thing
I dont think the speaker is blown though
is there a chance that the box is too large
I know the infinity perfect is supposed to be used on a small box but I don't know a lot about speakers yet as far as how much of a difference the box can make
and it is just some chitty walmart 20 box

for (at least thirdgen) hatchbacks, pointing the sub straight up will bounce the waves off the glass directly at you, which is a good thing.. as for the AREA of a triangle, its 1/2 * b * h, for volume you'd also need to multiply by depth...
