Alternators?

What is the stock amp rating for an alternator for an 82 z28 thats carbed? becuz mine is on its way out and i would like to find something with more then 65 amps to it. if anyone can help me really quick that would be great.

Transmission: 700R4
Axle/Gears: 3.42
Could be 67 amps. You should be able to put in a 94 amp alt. They were also stock, so local parts stores should carry them. Summit carries a 140 amp alt. Just make sure you get an SI alt.

yeah advance auto parts or pep boys usually carry a good selection..

auto parts stores generally carry remanufactured alternators. at the very least, make sure you have a good warranty on whatever you pick up.

well i got a 85 amp from work with a lifetime warrenty, it was fron a 82 camaro with fuelinjection and A/C. and so far it works great.
