Alpine 7995 and AudioControl Epicenter
Anyone have experience with the AudioControl Epicenter? I am thinking of adding this to my system as my new Alpine 7995 head unit is lacking the bass adjustability that my previous Sony Mobile ES deck had. The overall sound clarity is better with the Alpine deck but the bass just isn't there, even when the sub output is cranked all the way up.

The Epicenter will not add bass to your system. It enhances the bass thats already there. Well, actually if you want to get technical it restores bass thats lost in the recording of the music. So what it actually will do is add earth-moving bass rather than "boom".
Maybe you could go to AudioControls website and get more info if I haven't answered your question completely..

The Epicenter is a bad *** toy but I'd never pay the $200 they sell for new. I've had two of them now, the first I traded for a Fiero that I traded later for an 86 Trans Am, the other I bought a couple weeks ago from a pawn shop for $30. Basically what it does is it gives a little boost to the bass. Its most noticable with rock, country, and other types of music that don't have much predominant base. With rap or Bass CD's, it just gets annoying. Its enough of a difference that my roomates latest amp wouldn't drive the subs with the epicenter turned on.
