Use ring terminals to connect the wires to the cap. An try to make the wire from the cap to the amp as short as possible!

Make sure you charge the cap first unless you like fireworks and a spent cap. The cap should have come with a resistor to charge it with. If not, use a test light. You charge the cap simply by grounding the negative terminal, and applying power THROUGH the resistor or test light to the positive terminal of the cap. A test light is easiest because you just leave it connected until the light goes out. If you're using a resistor, keep it connected for a few minutes.

??The battery?? Charge it with the battery before you connect it to the amp and stuff.

isn't it dangerous to be working with (ie playing with connections, hooking up wires) a charged capacitor that large?

If you're an idiot, then yes. If you treat it just like you'd treat a battery, then you'll be equally as safe as when you handle a battery.

It depends on what value resistor they give you. Figure around a minute or 2.

If you use a test light (highly reccomended), just keep it there until the light goes out.
