6x9 boxes

I just bought some Audiobahn FLame 6x9's for $100 brand new. And I have heard that they only use their full power in a box and with an amp. I was wondering if anyof you have ever experienced 6x9's in our cars? Did you make your own? Did you buy some custom ones? It looks like there is very little to no room to fix a regular box back there.

The max output depends on what you have for a head unit, amplifier, cross overs and noise filters. The stock location in the towers of thirdgens is typically factory equipped with 6x9s. These speakers were not typically intended for use in a box, but rather in factory locations (doors, dash, and so on) but no speaker is hurt by putting it into its own enclosure. Typically, 6x9s will work well right off of a good deck with no amp, but a 120-240 watt amp will work best. If you plan on a whole system, a 4 channel 700 watt amp would be perfect.
