putting in some tv screens
well the project with my engine is starting to take place....while i have the car torn apart i was going to put in some screens around the car. i have ideas of where im putting everytihng so thats not a problem. the problem is idont know much about the screens
i have found some lagacy and starvision screens for around 100 bucks. are those good companies for screens and also what is a good pixel combination. i get the fact the more pixels the better the quality just wondering what some of you might have out there. im putting a screen above my AC in the dash or im going to have a flip down off of the center vents and im going to have two screens for my headrests. what would be good sizes to put in there. any pics of your setups would help me out and info as well.
thank you

Some of the real cheap stuff isn't very high quality. I've heard that the legacy LCDs have a very narrow viewing angle. If you're not spot-on, they don't look very good.
There are not many LCD manufacturers out there, but those that do manufacture them have sets that are designed for various applications, and in the mobile environment, it's important to have LCDs with a wide viewing angle and a bright screen, which also requires a screen with good contrast unless you want a washed-out image. The better stuff out there uses screens that meet these requirements better. I also think that the control modules for these LCDs may differ based on brand, and are not all from a small number of companies like the LCDs themselves are. These control modules convert the signal from NTSC to whatever it is the LCD screen needs, and the quality of these modules will have a significant impact on the display quality.
I have a Nesa 7", which is roughly 1/2 the price of the 7" sets from Alpine, Clarion, etc. I've found that the display is every bit as good as the more expensive stuff. Although this stuff is more expensive than the cheapest stuff available, I think it repesents one of the best values. The real cheap stuff is just too low quality in my opinion.

i'd say go look at some models at your local stereo/electronics places. check them out. look at their features, check their pixel rates/specs, see what you like. then you have a benchmark to work from. i've been drooling over the expensive stuff all morning...the BIG expensive stuff, but it's sooo unrealistic for my budget that i just had to walk away from them. but shoot, they are cool. get a PS2 in there too so you can play some games and watch some movies at the same time!!

lots of mobile LCDs. make sure you get one with the higher resolution, like 960x240 instead of 480x240. the more dots the better.
