got pics of system finally...

i usually dont post to the car audio board very often, but i look a lot. i finally got around to taking some pics of my system. It's 2 12" rockford punch subs, sealed custom built box (by me), 250 watt amp, etc., etc.. Had this particular system since the summer of 2000, still hits pretty hard for being 3 years old. what do you think?

Hell, I thought the seats were down! The wedge is unique, but why take up all the cargo room? We don't have a lot to begin with!

i could have saved room, but i had no reason to. I wanted to display everything. The only thing that i will have a problem with is storing the t-tops in the summer...

The grills were done with model paint. I painted them by hand with a model paint brush. It would say trans am, but i painted it when i had my non trans am (firebird).

i dont remeber the exact amount of time that it took...prolly about a week at about 3-4 hours per night. The box fits the contours of the space available and is completely sealed with glue, brad nails, and caulk. I also used square recessed screw heads to make it harder to unscrew if you want to steal. It's extremely heavy and you need a couple guys to get it out so theft would be a challenge.

I sketched the bird, then cut out the areas a wanted to paint. Then i used the piece of paper as a stencil and painted it by hand with model paint. The letters are free-hand. It would say 'Trans Am'...but I painted it when I had it in a plain old firebird.

thats a good question because i havent been faced with that problem yet. I didnt have my subs in until winter...but i guess i will have to take out my subs in the summer. I am actually thinking about selling it cuz i am getting so that the subs arent that big of a deal to me anymore.

i bought them in june 2000 and put them in my firebird. I ran them until i sold my car in august 2002. i bought them new and i havent ever run them hard. I think they are like 200 or 250 watt max but im not sure...ill have to check the specs on the specs sheet...but like i said im not sure that i will sell them yet, prolly not til summer.
